The Benchmark Scientific Agarose is a 25 gram container of molecular biology grade agarose powder. It has a gel point of 36-39 degrees Celsius and is ideal for DNA and RNA electrophoresis. This high purity agarose produces clear gels for excellent resolution. It can be used for techniques including PCR, restriction digests, and Southern and northern blotting. EMS Agarose LE is a highly purified agarose refined using an advanced process that excludes the use of organic solvents, yielding a cleaner end-product with a significantly reduced environmental impact. It is widely used for nucleic acid electrophoresis (analytical and preparative), protein electrophoresis (including radial immunodiffusion) and various blotting protocols.
It's low EEO (≤ 0.13 -mr) promotes increased electrophoretic mobility, yielding improved resolution and shorter run times. This also allows macromolecules and larger particles (subcellular fragments, viruses, etc.) to migrate more freely through the gel matrix. The consistently low EEO also provides a reduction in band distortion (caused by counterflow) that can result from the presence of excessive sulfate-rich negative ions.

This agarose is suitable for the analysis of AFLP's (Amplified Fragment Length Polymorphisms), STR's (Short Tandem Repeats) and tetranucleotide repeats. The low melting point of agarose SFR makes it an excellent medium for analytical and preparative electrophoresis.
